I have found that one of the greatest pleasures in life is to engage in relationship building through any situation or circumstance that either side may be coming from. It brings me great joy to find a connection point with someone I just met by hearing their story. I have made connections with people coming from a diverse range of backgrounds and built my identity in my ability to adapt to new cultures. This is a direct consequence of spending almost an equal number of years living in four different countries throughout my life: India, Hong Kong, Cyprus and Canada. I have also had the privilege of spending time in various other countries through the context of humanitarian aid.
I did my university years in Canada and graduated with a degree in Mathematics while dreading the winter months and spending my summers back home in Hong Kong or Cyprus. In my final year I spent my first summer in Kelowna, Canada and fell in love with the outdoors. I decided to stay and build my life here in Canada and started my career as a K-12 teacher. I have been a math teacher for the last 7 years and have been a passionate advocate of financial literacy and education for kids from as early as Grade 5. As I built relationships with the families of the kids I was teaching, I realized that there was also a real need for financial education for many of the parents. This realization along with other circumstances spurred me on to pursue a master’s degree in business administration which eventually led me to Raintree Financial Solutions. I look forward to continuing my journey as an educator in the capacity of a Private Wealth Advisor with Raintree.
In my free time I love spending time outdoors with my wife and daughter at a lake doing watersports, hiking, or rock climbing during the summer and snowboarding during the winter. I also enjoy playing golf, volleyball, spike ball and tennis. I have been a high school basketball coach for the last few years and try to play competitive basketball when I can for as long as my body can take it.
